Dr. Travis Flower is a clinical and forensic psychologist licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Dr. Flower provides psychotherapy services during business hours on Tuesdays and Thursday.  He currently has very limited availability for new therapy clients.  Dr. Flower is trained in cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic models of therapy, in addition to other approaches.  He commonly works with adults with trauma and other anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, and challenges with relationships.  He supports healthy sexuality, rewarding relationships, and positive identity for all clients, including LGBTQ individuals. He also provides clinical evaluations to diagnose and plan treatment for mental health concerns.

Dr. Flower provides forensic evaluations, consultation, and expert testimony in legal matters, with a primary focus on evaluating adults in criminal justice contexts.  Common areas of practice include evaluations of criminal responsibility, competency, sentence mitigation, and risk of violence and sexual violence.

Dr. Flower graduated from the University of Texas, and then completed his graduate training at the dual-doctorate program in Law and Clinical Psychology at Widener University.  He earned a law degree and a doctorate in clinical psychology in 2004.  He has worked in a variety of inpatient, outpatient, and residential treatment settings.  Between 2008 and 2019, he was a Clinical Psychologist in D.C. at Saint Elizabeths Hospital, where he provided psychotherapy to a variety of forensic patients, and conducted a range of evaluations for the hospital’s Forensic Consult Service.  He has been a professor and an invited lecturer at several universities and professional schools, including teaching forensic psychology at Catholic University of America from 2010 to 2018.  He has been with Woodbridge Psychological Associates since 2019.
