Additionally, I am presently accepting referrals for parent coordination, parent coaching, and reunification therapy services. Dr. Laeli Wilson is a clinical psychologist licensed in Virginia, specializing in general and forensic assessment. She is an approved forensic evaluator with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services Commissioner to provide competency and insanity evaluations in the state of Virginia. She has received training, supervision, and education in civil, family, and criminal law matters. Her areas of forensic practice include:

Dr. Wilson also provides general clinical evaluation services to include:

In addition to evaluation services, Dr. Wilson provides general therapy services to couples, older adolescents, and adults. As a treatment provider Dr. Wilson takes an individualistic approach to meet each individual or couple’s unique needs and goals. She draws on a number of therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, existential/person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused intervention. Dr. Wilson also strives to work collaboratively with her clients utilizing a strengths-based approach. At the heart of her therapeutic work is the therapeutic relationship where she seeks to provide a space of warmth and safety.

Dr. Wilson earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Dickinson College in 2012. She earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Northern Virginia in 2018. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology in 2022 at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Washington D.C. Dr. Wilson has trained and worked in a broad range institutions in the D.C. metropolitan and outlying areas including: the D.C. Superior Court, Eastern State Hospital, the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Medstar Washington Hospital Center, and she also has substantial experience working in private practice. Dr. Wilson completed her predoctoral internship at Southeast Human Service Center located in Fargo, North Dakota where she was provided rigorous training in assessment and intervention within a community mental health setting. Thereafter, she completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical and Forensic Psychology at Woodbridge Psychological Associates, PC in Woodbridge, Virginia
